Alaskan Malamutes have a wide range of individual
colors, markings, coats, and body types within
the breed.
There is NO such thing as AKC " GIANT
ALASKAN MALAMUTES ", These are malamutes
that are just oversized and usually come
with oversize health problems. Woolies or Long coated malamutes are incorrect
coat gene, they make wonderful and
loving
family pets but they should not be
used for
breeding purposes just because they
are cute
as a puppy. Red malamutes and White
Malamutes
are not rare. These colour genes are
in our
breed standard.
Below are general examples of coat markings.
CAP: a cap of color covers the top of the
head and ears usually coming to a point in
the center of the forehead

OPEN FACE: a cap covering the top of the

BLACK AND WHITE: black guard hair with black or dark grey
undercoat

SEAL AND WHITE: black or black tipped guard hairs with white
or cream undercoat. Dog appears
black at
a distance, but is not a true
